UK Might Honour Mahatma Gandhi With Commemorative Coin!



Its seems like that the United Kingdom Might honour Mahatma Gandhi for his immense role in the fight for India's freedom struggle by minting his image in a coin. If this happens, Mahatma Gandhi will be the first non-white person to be in the UK coin.Reuters reported on Sunday. "The Royal Mint Advisory committee is currently considering a coin to commemorate Gandhi." said the UK Treasury.

Finance Minister Rishi Sunak has asked the RAMC to recognise the constributions of the Black, Asian and other minority ethnic communities.Gandhi will be the first Non-White person on the British Currency.

The RMAC is an independent organization of experts who recommend and themes and designs to be incorporated on the British Currency. According to the daily mail, they have started their work on the commemorative coin.

In a letter to Zehra Zaidi, a former Tory candidate, Sunak said, "Black, Asian and other ethnic minority communities have made a profound contribution to the shared history of the UK."
