Legal Hurdles Are Not Allowing The UK To Forward With Vijay Mallya's Extradition.

India's biggest business tycoon fugitive Vijay Mallya will not be extradited to India as of now as the United Kingdom needs to reslove some form of a 'confidential' legal issue, a spokes person of the British High Commission said on Thursday. The Spokesperson said that last month, Vijay Mallya had lost his appeal against extradition and refused leave to appeal further to the UK Supreme Court. But he also added that there is some further legal issue that needs to be solved before Mallya can be extradited. The true nature of the legal issue is not yet clear. It is being speculated that Mallya may have sought political asylum in the United Kingdom or cited the threat to his due to the possible spread of COVID-19 in Indian prisons. The Spokesperson also said that the issue is completed confidential and that the High Commission cannot go in any detail and that they are seeking to deal with this as quickly as possible. More COVID-19 Deaths In The UK Than the entire EU Combined!

New data indicates that the United Kingdom recorded more COVID-19 deaths than the entire EU combined. Our World in Data published figures that show that the UK had 359 COVID deaths on Wednesday June 3 while heavily affected countries like France, Italy and Spain only had 311 deaths combined. However the process to count the deaths is different. Countries record deaths differently.For example a pneumonia related death may be recorded as a COVID-19 death and not the other. Also records of new deaths might as well be an old case that is only has just been reported as a new one. The outbreak also peaked later in the UK compared to the other European countries which may also be the reason for the high figures of death.
